Anyone running this combination?
Not sure, but I think my rpm readings are slightly lower on my VR2 than the R1.
I took the Tach feed off a coil wire (+).
The VR2 has the option to change the rpm settings.
If you have one of these, what are your RPM settings (Circuit, Filter, Multiply)?
I don't have another tach to check it against.
Will have a look at my settings later - but thats for a V8
Paul
circuit ------ 0
filter -------- 5
multiplier -- 6

signal taken from one of a pair of coils packs running from megajolt.

IIRC mine is tapped off the revcounter input fom the 'Blade
I've searched the web and even emailed veypor uk and they don't know.
Seems the only way is to check it against another tacho (which I don't have).
I need to have accurate readings not only for the sva but to program the gear ratios on the VR2 and the seperate Gear indicator. At the moment
stumped!
Update from veypor uk: The rpm can read lower at idle by 300 rpm and at full throttle lower by 1000 rpm.
Try telling that to the tester!

Cant you use a rev counter input/.
Mine was set by trial annd errotr ISTR

The rpm is steady as a rock and the instructions say to use the positive side from the ecu. Also it doesn't make sense to use the negative as it
is common to 4 coils not one.
According to dynojet uk it is normal for the digital rpm to read up to 300 rpm lower at idle and 1000 rpm at full throttle when compared to the stock
bike gauge.
My connections are not the problem, only my fear that the sva will use higher than actual rev's for the sound test.
I was hoping that I could just find out what other R1 user settings were.

It says it will not work if you use the wrong side of the coil............mine is working but the rpm seems slightly lower than they should indicate.
I have an rpm configuration issue not a circuit one.
Don't you also mean ECU not MCU?

Right Sorted!
My Power Commander LCD screen has an RPM reading which was double that of the VR2. So I changed the Multiplier.
If anyone else is running an 05 R1, the settings are as follows.
Circuit 1 (white wire to one of ign coils ecu side +)
Filter 4
Multipliy 7.

Take a chill pill.
It is wired as per the instructions and the rpm are spot on.
