2001 Citroen Saxo VTR (8 valve) (Standard Production)
This car is a standard, road going Saxo that has run in (and won) the Standard Production Car class of the Welsh Sprint & Hillclimb Championship all season.
The car has competed on 9 events with 6 first in class, 2 seconds (beaten by a turbo diesel Seat and V6 Vectra)) and a third (beaten by that pesky Seat being double driven on a Hillclimb). The car has finished about fifth or sixth overall in the Welsh Championship and won my club Championship outright. I’ve not put a spanner on it at events!
The car has the grey top 98 bhp engine, 8 more than the standard black top, but nowhere near enough for the chassis! (I’ve got a 16 valve engine on the stand in the garage……)
Since buying it in April, it’s had the following new parts:
Rear discs, pads and callipers,
Front pads (Green stuff – I have standard pads as well)
Cam belt
Alternator and belt
Oil and filter
Air filter (I had to replace the ‘induction kit’ to bring it back to standard!)
Front wheel bearings (both sides)
Drop links,
Full bottom arms (wishbones)
Anti-rollbar bushes
Track rod ends
4 Kumo tyres (List 1A with the best rating for this size overall for wet and dry)
Rear cage
Sparco FIA spec seat and alloy seat mounts
I’ll include a 4 point harness not the 6 point one currently in the car.
The car’s not perfect and has a few scrapes etc. It has an MOT until July 2010 (I’ll get a fresh one on it for the cost of the MOT if the buyer wants) and is taxed until December
The datalogger and dash don’t come with it but there is a ‘face off’ JVC CD player!
