I have a classic capri axle (same size and type as escort) that i no longer need, and is currently in my way in the garage.
It has 9inch drum brakes. And was fitted to a book size chassis. (When I fitted the dedion I noticed that I followed one of the errors in the book
meaning that the holes on the axle mounts are a little closer together)
It has no diff so you would have to find another.
It is also missing the spring that pin the brakeshoes to the backplate, but these are pence from a motor factor.
One backplate has a mounting where I fit a speed sensor.
Also I removed it when one of the wheel bearings broke. I am happy to include the new bearing I bought, but you would have to fit it.
There are some marks where the bearing failed, but that should not cause any further trouble.
I would prefer collection, but if absolutely necessary I will post (about £10) but you would have to cover postage.
If it is out of a capri it is more likely to be an atlas
il take the axle please, just what we need for a spare for our race car. i will u2u you.

i'm probably wrong here but ..... I thought the mk1 capri was the english axle diff but in a slightly larger axle tube - ie its a couple of
inches wider than a standard escort axle.
I know the capri salisbury axle is wider for sure (i've got one and an escort).
If it falls through with Shaun, I would be interested. I'm from Oxford so can easily collect.
Thanks
Alex
He says Classic Capri, the early 60's car with the huge boot. The axle is similar to the cortina estate and uses lever arm dampers..Image deleted by owner
It is definitely an english axle, and I thought it is the same size as the escort from the measurement i have seen/taken.
Certainly had no complaints from the guy who took the diff for an escort axle.
anyway shaun replied first, alex i'll let you know if shaun changes his mind
the car i took it from did look like the above
just to add the car was in no state to be put back on the road, in case we have some one on the forum with a strong affection for classic capris
