if it is as dscribed (i.e. straight from a normal car). Then it will be non-LSD and with push-in driveshafts.

Otherwise it has been modified (which isn't necessarily bad, but would be inconsistent).

matt gsxr,please can you help on this then!!

it has bolt on drive shafts,its a 7" casing,if you turn the input shaft both the drive flanges turn the same way not opposite.

do all the 3.14 diffs come with push in shafts then as standard?

That'll be an LSD then. Do you have anything to back up the fact that it's a 3.14?

??? all diffs turn the output shafts in the same direction when turning the input shaft/propshaft

you only know a lsd when you turn a output shaft and the other shaft goes the same way while putting a finger on the prop/input shaft, if it turns opposite then it's a non-lsd

it is stamped on it inside,it says 3.14 with a ford part no next to it.

if you turn a normal diff on the input shaft the outputs turn opposite way.

this diff both the outputs turn the same way.

can somebody check a diff if they have one in there garage to clarify please.

surely a viscous lsd wont be as agressive as a proper plate type lsd?

If you turn the prop and the output shafts go in different directions the driven wheels will go in different directions! The chap above has it right

Not when there's no resistance on the output flanges generally. They can move in whichever direction they want as long as the average velocity between the two is the same as the crown wheel. You almost certainly wont have both of them turning the same direction at the same time if you just turn the input on a diff.
