do these not cause any probs ? read somewhere that these has been related to a couple of engine faliures i think it was ab preformance who does the mini r1 conversions that had something on there website.....

As far as I'm aware, the R1 EXUP bypass valve module has not been linked to any engine failures and there are plenty of people on this forum running and racing R1 BEC's with this modification without any issues to date.

If the R1 EXUP bypass valve module has been found to be responsible for engine failures, please post a link. I wouldn't want to sell something to members that could potentially cause an engine failure.............

Hi, have you got the fitting instructions for this, or do the wires have the same colour coding as the R1 loom?

The failure link is where people have either done-away with the EXUP altogether, or replaced it with just a resistor to put the fault code out. That results in the ECU going to fixed values for timing (as I understand it). These boxes mimic the EXUP feedback so everything runs as normal. I've had one (self built) on for 10000 miles.

I've been advised (on good authority) that the colours are identical to the R1 loom, although some of the earlier R1's may have one different colour but even so, it should be self explanatory when wiring the module in. The only colour wire in the original loom that doesn't need connecting is the solid blue wire.

Don't think they're comercialy available. Chris Mason on here did make and sell some in the past. He might still have some.

All the details of how to make one yourself are in THIS THREAD including an idiots (that'd be me) guide, shopping list for parts, etc.
