50' narrowboat
stevegough - 29/5/11 at 09:51 AM

Hi, folks! My Mum and Pop have decided they are getting a bit long in the tooth for doing locks and heavy gates / paddles, so their narrowboat is up for sale.

It is a 50 foot 10-6-4 (but don't ask me what that means). It is lying at Upland Marina (moorings paid till Feb) near the Anderton Boat lift.
They bought it new in 1995, kitted out to their spec.
It had a complete new Isuzu engine in 2009, when it was also repainted. I could probably post some pics if anyone wants, but it will be advertised in 'Waterways World' in June.

Snap up a bargain! they are looking for somewhere around £42,000.

Please no fender-kickers or speedboat-racers!

You can ring them direct on Warrington 01925 831795

If only indeed.
If it wasn't for the £42,000 I would even have somewhere local to keep it.
This is about 2 miles from here.

I could think of worse ways to spend the weekends.

Im just checking my pocket change.......

I looked into living on a narrow boat in the mid nineties & back then you were looking at a cost of 1000 pounds per foot to have one made for you so considering the price of metal now & inflation, that seems like a good price for a 50' boat with a new engine.

By the way, the 10-6-4 if i remember correctly is the metal thickness of: hull - cabin sides - roof.

Good luck with the sale, what a great way to chill out no matter what the weather

If you send a U2U to DHutch (or D_HUTCH) His name is Daniel and has a narrowboat himself and I'm sure looks after a narrowboat forum, so may be able to help with additional advertisement...

Thanks again, Steve, Dhutch has now been in touch, and you were right, he does run a narrowboat forum.
