For Sale: iPhone
Wheels244 - 14/10/11 at 05:57 PM

I've decided I want the new iPhone for no other reason other than that I can

So my existing iPhone is up for sale.

Apple iPhone 3GS 16Gb Black in excellent condition.
Complete with box and everything that came with it.
Also Carbon Fibre effect softhard case which fully encloses it - hence the excellent condition.
It's on O2, but can be unlocked easily enough.
No faults - works great.

I can leave all the music and apps on it or perform a full factory reset at the buyers choice.

£200

If there's no interest I'll just keep it and continue using it.

Don't do it, get a 4 with the IOS5 and pocket the difference

There's not that much difference in price though.
I thought the 4 would have come down a fair bit more.

Have you already got it or checked you definitely can? My mate queued up for about 2 hours yesterday and was sent packing, he's an existing o2 customer as it says on their website but the small print says he still had too long left on his contract/ He was gutted as he'd just dropped his older iPhone and smashed the screen.

Better off just buying it outright and switching to a SIM-only plan. You'll pay for it in the long run anyway.

eg Vodafone want £170 for the 16GB phone on a 24x£31/month contract. Wheras the same contract on SIM-only is £15/month so you save £16 x 24 = £384 on monthly rental. That makes TCO £554 whereas retail on the phone is £499.

Ok, so £55 over 2 years isn't a huge amount but what happens at upgrade time and you're stuck in contract for 2 years? If you're on a SIM-only you can sell the 4S whilst it's still worth something (look at how much iphone 4's are still going for even now the 4S is out) and get a fair contribution towards a 5.

The plan is to sell mine and buy an unlocked one direct from Apple.
I've been out of my contract for a while now although I'm still with O2.
I've kept my deal with O2 as I've had it for years and they can't match it on anything new.
