1971 Morris Mini Clubman 1275 Turbo - £3,800ono

Sad to see it go, but I need the funds for sprinting and other projects, so up for sale is my Clubman Turbo.

I bought it a bit less than a year ago from a turbominis forum member, and in that time have tarted it up fairly well. Its running a genuine metro turbo engine (engine number present), with a T2 turbo (orginally from a peugeot I believe). Details as follows:

1971 tax exempt Clubman shell - completely rust free, subframes solid, not rust anywhere as far as I can see. had a respray by previous owner, a few bits of overspray, but generally very good.

3 months MOT

1275 Engine with T2 turbo. Head has some work with double valve springs, opened chambers, and bigger valves. standard pistons as far as I know. Head gasket recently replaced. Not sure of exact compression ratio, but only running a safe 8psi boost. Recent oil and filter change.

SCCR gearbox, with straight cut drop gears, and quick shift. Clutch is a grey I believe, although I haven't had it apart.

Straight through exhaust to cherrybomb silencer - sounds lovely and passed last MOT fine

Megajolt ignition

Front mounted intercooler cleverly worked into the front bodywork by the previous owner. dump valve and IC pipework well routed for a tidy easy to work on engine bay.

6 point Safety devices roll cage

homemade leather dash with three clock binnacle, oil pressure gauge, boost gauge and inlet temp gauge

Mountney steering wheel with drop bracket

Cooper S disc brakees on the front, minifins of the rear. New pads and discs all round.

10" GB alloys with brand new Falken tyres - only done 50 or so miles.

New Bosch battery, new inner wing solonoid, New carpets throughout, new wing mirrors, etc (as you can see I wasn't planning on selling it!)

Its ready to go now - only bad bits: the hazards don't work (just needs a live feed, will try and fix before sale) and it smokes a little. Nothing major, goes away when driven - I suspect its just the turbo exhaust seal. No play felt in the shaft when I had it off to do the head gasket, and it doesnt drink oil. Inlet valve seals were replaced with head gasket.

more pics on request, viewing welcome. The car is in Norfolk, happy to take anyone on a test drive.
