2 Post Lift For Sale
Due to moving my automotive future in a different direction, i'm sell a 2 post lift.
It's rated at 2.8 ton and was Brand new last August
It's single phase so suitable for normal house 3 pin plug sockets
There is an issue with the motor, not sure what it is but recently it has started blowing fuses, motor spins freely so my guess is one of the large
capacitors is at fault, and the not the motor itself.
Looking for £500 no offers, it will need dismantling when collected, i'll be on hand to help and provide tools.

Sounds like the cap, does it spin then hum then trip or does it just trip on startup? Just too see if its start or run cap? It also may also not be
caps and have a sticky centrifugal switch which wont switch caps over, so a simple timer will solve that.
if who everbuys it send cap to me i can replace for cost of postage back

It says GEM on the lift other than that i've no idea of manufacturer, once the garage is cleared over the weekend i'll get some pictures
up on here complete with dimensions.
That sounds a Generous offer Kris, as for what happens, the motor starts and runs then after about 2-3 seconds it trips out.

One has just sold on ebay for £890, admittedley it didn't have a capacitor fault and was a few months newer, so it looks like i could be doing
the same with one, if anyone's interested let me know now, before i list it.

Hi Chris, thanks for the pics and sorry for the tardy reply. I've been looking at (agonising over) the finances with the Missus. Unit rent is
due at quarter end, which isn't going to help right now.
I'm almost through a R1oT build, but thats not going to pay for both rent and 2-post.
Hoping to get another (re)engine job in soon, so hopefully...

Managed to sell the lift on ebay for £775, i should be happy about that, but it seems the winning bidder could be a right ar5e
Within 10 minutes of the aution ending sent him an email stating how to pay and my contact details.
I've since had an email which is so poor i can picture what type of guy has bought the lift, should be fun if he ever turns up to collect and
pay for it, he could be in for shock when he turns up though
Here's his email sent later today "did you wat to sell the lift mate let me konw send me you phone nueber"
And no i haven't editted his spelling
