For Sale – Yamaha Virago XV535 – Bargain – Aberdeen

Due to me buying a new kayak I now have to sell my beloved motorbike to help pay for it! I’d rather sell my Landy but the bike can’t carry a 5m long kayak...

It’s a 1990 XV535 with only 12,000 miles, I bought it when it had just 8000 miles for £1400 2 years ago. It’s just the perfect bike to cruise around due to its soft ride and really comfy seat, ideal for shorter people or women due to the low seat which allows you to put both feet flat on the ground, I’m 5’5” and it fits me perfectly.

A very stable forgiving bike due to the low centre of gravity and extra underseat fuel tank (it has two tanks) meaning it’s a doddle to filter through traffic, the louder exhaust making you well noticed, a blip on the throttle wakes folk up. It has a lovely engine with heaps of torque meaning most of the time you don’t need to change gear at all, even overtaking up hills yet is still very good on fuel, it costs me £12 a week on petrol to go to work in it or £45 a week with the car. Actually pays for itself in less than a year on fuel savings alone. Cheap to insure as cruisers are regarded as less risk, I’m just £85 a year

One of the nice things with this bike is the shaft drive, its cleaner, no hassle and maintenance free. It’s had very regular oil changes and I changed all the fluids when I bought the bike. It’s been totally reliable needing nothing apart from the oil changes and an oil filter (easy job) to keep it going sweet.

I have fitted a stainless exhaust, the sound will make you smile, and it’s recently had two new tyres which are vastly better grip than the original ones. It also comes with a large American style windscreen which gives amazing protection from the wind, cold and rain and takes just seconds to remove if the weather is nice. Also included is a locking top box for the back large enough for a helmet and a good quality disk lock plus a very good workshop manual I bought from the states.

All working just fine and ready enjoy.

I will be very sad to see it go, so much for my trip to Orkney where’s the crying smiley?!

Road taxed till Jan 13 and MOT’d to Jan 13 (will double check when I get home)

Priced to sell at just £750 which would get you a nasty Chinese copy 125cc learner bike!

Cash on collection, sorry no rides on it till it’s paid for as I can’t risk it being damaged.
