Cheap tow car/donor Range Rover 3.9 V8 on LPG

Selling this as it has now served its purpose, first refusal for LCB members.

1991 Range Rover 3.9 EFi V8 Manual on LPG

MOT to Mid-December, tax just ran out

4 as new Bridgestone tyres

This is an awssome tow car, gets 18mpg on LPG which is now only 63ppl at shell so the cost equivalent of ~35-40mpg in a normal Diesel car. So much grunt it barely notices 1200kg of trailer on the back.

Has a tow bar and fully working towing electrics.

This is a proper LPG conversion with the tanks under the chassis not taking up all of the boot space and it runs great on both LPG and petrol, the drivetrain is faultless.

Also very rarely for a Rangey its a manual and the low-range and diff locks on the gearbox both work.

Bodywork is pretty good, it has the usual Range Rover corrosion but nothing structural (solid chassis and outriggers) and it has an MOT so can't be that bad. Interior is surprisongly tidy grey cloth, the only electrical fault is that the electric mirrors dont work.

There is one bad point, when I bought it (from a trader) the V5 got lost in the post so it never got registered in my name. I do have a full receipt and the contact details from the trader as well as the MOT and it is insured so the new owner can apply for the V5 with a V62 for (£25 charge)

Sad to be sellng but I have no use for it now (buying a newer van for racing).

Buyer collects or I could drop it off within a reasonable distance of Nuneaton.

All offers considered including Part Ex of anything. Give me a U2U on 07793 064648 if interested. Located in Nuneaton Warks

Not much, it owes me £800. I'm not expecting to get that back.

I'll take the first decent offer

I assume hey're all rusty because its a 21 year old Land Rover product, although it passed an MOT 6 months ago. headlining is sagging at the rear as they all are. Tailgate is actually not that bad, the upper in particular is better than most I have seen.

No idea who did the LPG conversion, long long before I owned it.

I just picked it up off ebay a couple of months ago, towed a trailer and I'm now selling it so haven't spent any time under the bonnet.

I can take a couple more pics if you like

I reckon its cause there's no V5. Sounds dodgy...

When you say the V5 got lost? What does that mean?, and why didn't you apply for it as a new owner? How long have you had it?

Its cheap enough for me and looks good but the lack of a V5 puts me right off!

I am interested in it, but would like a lot more detail.
And as Steve says, the V5 is an issue - an absolute prerequisite for me when buying a car

Yeah it does sound dodgy hence the cheap price but I'm being honest.

I bought it from a trader on ebay (taken as a part ex against a new Range Rover), he sent off the V5 to the DVLA in my name when I collected it but they never recieved it (lost in the post probably).

I've owned it about 3 months but it never registered in my brain that I hadn't recieved the V5 until I decided to sell it. I phoned the DVLA about applying for the V5 but found out that it would take 4-6 weeks so I would have to leave it on the drive unused all that time so I thought I'd just sell it and let the person who buys it apply for the V5 straight into there name.

I have the receipt for the sale, traders contact deets, tax and insurance and have been driving it daily so it isn't stolen.

At the end of the day if it doesn't sell here I'll just stick it back on ebay or take it down the scrapyard.

Well if that is an absolute pre-requiste then you wont be buying it because I don't have it

Fair enough - good luck with the sale.
