Type 9 (V6) Gearbox
I have a V6 T9 which is surplus to requirements
The tag reads "87 9T AA" & " FOG OC 12F". IIRC it came from a Capri. I bought it as a spare (I have a 2.8 V6 in my Robin
Hood) and it's just been dry stored in my garage.
I've done a bit of research and taken some measurements.The 'box is definitely from a V6 as it has the longer front cover. This also means
it is not from a diesel. The input shaft has 23 teeth on it.
I measured from the front of the 'box to the end of the input shaft - 7 1/4 inches. This didn't tie up with online info & means
someone has cut the end of the shaft(should be 8.1" for the V6 ).This was probably done to allow mating to a different engine. However this
doesn't affect anything as the teeth which engage with the clutch plate are still in the same position. The shape of the bellhousing at the top
also confirms it is a V6 gearbox.
There is no reverse switch as I think I used it for my Robin Hood and there is no mount for the clutch arm inside
the bell housing. Also I can't find the bellhousing bolts.
The gears (including reverse) all select nice and easily and the plastic saddle under the gear lever fork is present. The
input & output shafts turn freely with no discernible wear. The oil has been drained as otherwise it will leak out in transit.
If you want the rear mounting arm I think I have it somewhere. It can be collected from Hawkinge in Kent or I would be able to put it on a pallet if
you were to arrange a courier.
I'm looking for £150 to allow me to recoup my outlay but feel free to make me an offer.

Interesting bell-housing shape. Where does the starter motor fit? Can see no provision for the usual permanently-engaged type.
Work-in-Progress: Changed to Zetec + T9. Still trying!!

Yes - it does look stange from this view.
You're looking at the face that attaches to the gearbox (and it's upside down) - the starter would attach to the right hand side as you
look at it.
