MX5 Anyone? '96 UK 1.8 for sale
MX-5 anyone?
So, I’m half inclined to keep this one, and I’m sure I’ll kick myself once its gone, but I think it might be a good time to sell the MX5 to fund the
Gemini.
Bought last year off a fellow LCB member, its been a great little car, albeit its spent most of its time in the garage over the winter. Details as
follows:
GOOD BITS
1996 UK 1.8 MX-5 in BRG (cheaper on the insurance than the imports Eunos)
Full 12 month MOT due 10/06/15
Currently no tax
89k miles
New Battery with warranty
Just serviced (plugs, oil, filters)
New cambelt with fresh tensioners, gaskets and springs
New drop links
New ARB bushes
New waterpump
New timing belt
New power steering belt
New front calipers and pads
Recon rear calipers
Braided brake lines
New tyres (albeit not exactly premium brand, but years of life in them)
Good hood, no rips/tears and 100% waterproof
Interior in good condition, bar the ashtray.
Immobilisor with one fob (lives in the car)
HUGE history file, I mean massive. Every receipt for everything ever done to it.
Small rust patches on both sills rubbed back, filled and painted. All solid and looking excellent now.
Otherwise, its standard. Very rare these days to find one that hasn’t been mucked about with!
I also have some colour matched paint that you can have.
NOT SO GOOD BITS
Small dent in front nearside wing. Paint not broken and to be honest, if I hadn’t mentioned it you wouldn’t see it.
CD player is a bit old and tempramental.

I hadn’t planned on selling it as I said, but its not possible to drive two cars at once, and now the gemini is nearing completion, I wont be needing
it.
Price? Well it need nothing but tax so Its worth £1k of anyones money, but in keeping with Locost tradition, £900 to a LCB’r, or £850 with the old
alloys and tyres. They’re legal, but will need replacing soon. Genuine Mazda items though.
