FS: Sigma and Ford Pinto Engines
1.7 SIGMA / ZETEC SE
From a 97 Puma with a genuine 60k on the clock. Engine ran fine before I dismantled the car.
Comes with Inlet manifold, throttle body, MAF sensor, DUDE ECU with connector, fuel rail, alternator, starter, flywheel, clutch, and engine cover.
Perfect for a midi-project, but RWD Type 9 bellhousings are available from Shawspeed... and I think Eddie on here still has one for sale around the
£150-mark.
It's the VCT engine with the alloy inlet manifold that comes in 2 pieces. You can easily fab a 'Ford Racing Puma' style plenum and
mount it to this if you fancy boosting the power. Terrific little engines designed by Yamaha which weigh naff-all and are good for 8k revs if you
decide to go aftermarket ECU.
Condition is commensurate with year / miles.
Only things that I can see that needs attention is that one of the power-steering pump mounting bolts sheared and will need drilling out, and one of
the bolts in the water pump seems to spin, so will need a new thread. Both are inexpensive, non time-consuming jobs.
£175 please. £195 if you want to add a gearbox, intermediate drive-shaft, and intermediate drive shaft mounting block.
2.0 FORD PINTO ENGINE
Engine with Weber 40 DCOE twin-Carbs with Linkage and Trumpets, Alloy Sump, Alloy Inlet Manifold, Dizzy, Coil, Leads, Luminition Ignition, Wiring,
Flywheel, Clutch, Starter, Alternator, Release Fork, Cast Bellhousing.
Previous owner claims that it's been ported and made 150+ BHP on the Boggs Brothers dyno... but then he also said the car it came with had an
LSD - which it doesn't... so make of that what you will! All I can say is that it felt really strong when I drove it.
He also told me it had an uprated cam. I've not measured it, but it has 'HR330' stamped on the end.
Price? Difficult one as the carbs and sump are probably worth a few hundred on their own. Got to be worth £650 to someone?
It's Evolution Baby!
