Nissan CA18DET Engine For Sale

My friend's son has the following engine and box for sale.
Whilst its fairly high mileage, it was taken from his old car which had severe tinworm, it was running fine and passed the MoT OK.
He was keeping it as a spare for his other Nissan, which recently had an altercation with a lamp post.
Thus the CA18DET no longer needed.

CA18DET engine (done about 166K, technically fine) /w gearbox (got a slight whine, is drivable but ideally would need a rebuild or to be replaced)

Standard CA18 propshaft

He wants about £150 for the engine and box.
Not sure about a price the propshaft.

All located nr Cambridge.

They often go for £200-300 on ebay in good working order complete with all ancilliaries, turbo, gearbox, prop, ecu etc.

Something that's done high miles will almost certainly need big ends replacing on a CA18DET, and the gearbox sounds like a swap jobbie (no value in them to warrant a rebuild).

I'd therefore suggest that most people that want one for a project will just hold out for a ready to go package that doesn't need meddling?

If you want a quick sale, stick it on ebay with £100 starting bid. Put enough pictures on it and you should get the amount you want.

I'd be interested if I hadn't bought an engine a month ago!
