1800 zetec, plus dellortos on manifold

As title. 1800 zetec engine. Had new water pump and cambelt less than 2000 miles ago. 2 litre cams fitted, lightened 1800 flywheel and escort sump.
Got to be worth £100??

Pair of Dellorto 40DHLA carbs jetted and set up for the above engine, produced 150bhp at the flywheel on the rollers (gerald dale motorsport). On a Dunnell zetec inlet manifold £200 posted.

Dunnell ignition ECU also available £100 posted

£400 for a 1.8 Zetec, with induction and ignition - that's a hell of a good buy

bargain especially if lower mileage. Theyre good for high miles if looked after

I managed to mangle the car it was in, having a few months earlier bought a complete engine with full dunnell EFI (have a look on their site to see how much that little lot costs new, I picked mine up from a kitcar that had hit a deer!)
So this engine is ex escort, had 65K on it when I bought it, put the dellortos and ignition setup on and away it went. Fitted a new water pump after I put some radflush in it (caused a leak) so fitted a new gates timing belt at the same time. The tensioners etc all looked near new when i did the job.
Ancillaries, sorry, but most of the odds and ends are needed for the new engine install. See what I can find though, there may be an alternator mount kicking about, a rather dodgy (as in VERY dodgy) homemade exhaust manifold that is not clever, short primary 4>1 to suit my spitfire. That is the awkward part, I keep looking at my ST170 manifold and wonder how I will get that in Think I need my mig out again......

At least thats a bit closer Andy! Bit of a bargain too even if its a 1.8 they still go very well.

When you rag it too hard you can always swap it then for a 2l which would be an easy swap!!

Take care

R

Nope, fitting another 1800 zetec, but this has full dunnell externals. Cost the original owner about 3.5K
So the new spitfire/zetec hybrid is having the new engine, the last version of teh spitfire just got recycled after removing the engine and other stuff i needed to keep. If that makes sense. Nothing wrong with the engine at all.

Just got in from clearing a flat. Yuk.

Anyway, I will sort some pics out at the weekend. Off to the dogs after a shower, and tomorrow is "take the kids for their day out shopping at Lakeside" Great!
