Renault Clio Phase 2 172 2002, Silver, Low Miles, VGC

Renault Clio 172 in Iceburg Silver, 2002 02 reg (currently on personalised plate)

MOT till July 2012, Taxed till end of Feb 2012.

81000 miles, Service history to 2008 and previous Mots since then to verify.

Recent rebuilt engine after timing belt failure, includes all new valves and guides, genuine cambelt, genuine aux belt (and of course all pulleys and tensioners/springs, also genuine)
Recently refurbished alloys in dark/grey (not professional but good job)
4 good tyres (goodyears on front (3-4mm), budget on rear (approx 6mm)
New wipers all round (Bosch aerotwins on front)
All the usual 172 goodies, Half leather/alcantara, trip computer, xenon lights etc.

Overal in very good condition. Bodywork is spot on, no signs of rust, the odd chip and mark but nothing that would be considered offensive or unexpected for a 9yr old car. Only obvious bad points ive noticed are the drivers seat wont lean forward to access rear seats. Airbag light is on, which means service light is also on. I will endeavour to fix this by swapping parts from my other clio to diagnose and solve.

Only for sale due to not needed 2 172s!

£2500

Pm or email log_garside at yahoo.com

Asking price includes road tax and personal plate, valued (optimistically) by Newreg.co.uk at £2000, i think closer to £250 is realistic!
Any offer under the asking price the above items will be negotable.

Head was rebuilt by a company called 'heads first', (ebay), and the engine was reassembled by me, timing was done using correct camshaft, cam pulley and TDC tools.

I was told that the cables under the seat coming loose can cause light to come on, checked them but didnt fix mine, but certainly a good place to start?

Edit, just a PM from kind user on here giving more details on the above which I will look in to.

quote:
My 172 had the connector replaced with a soldered connection by Renault and this sorted it right out.

On the seat, the cable from the handle to bring the seat forward comes out of the holder on the seat frame about half way down the seat back.
It can be put back in position by taking the seat cover hooks off back of the seat and reaching up the back and reseating the cable in its holder.
I've got a 172 on 170K miles and this cable has came off god knows how many times!
