A work mate of mine is selling an untouched golf rallye shell on ebay.

I said id post it on here for him- there might be a VW nut lurking on the forum... Not exactly Locost but an awesome project never the less!

There weren't many to start with and they were always highly prized.
My vote would be the latest S3 engine and running gear grafted into the body shell. Sacrilige maybe, but I'd also fit a BMW E30 3 series dash
in there as well as it slots straight in and is far more appealing than the VW original. Nice Corbeau seats, some Porsche alloys and a VW Dusty Mauve
paint job to finish off.
...not that I've thought about it mind

They always seem to get a good price, but its very rare that a 'brand new' shell appears. Let alone a group A one, especially rust free-
in its original primer!
My mate drove all the way to Germany to pick it up a few years back- its just been sat in his garage ever since (you know how it is!!), but he had
planned to put a supercharged V5 engine in- however when he measured it all up he couldnt justify cutting the shell!
I put it up here just to get him a bit more interest and to spark a 'what if' conversation!
