My dad had two (maestros) and I remember it being a lovely gearbox.

Anorak on... The 1.6 and 1.6 models had the VW box. The 2.0 had a Honda box which was excellent and despite my best efforts over 2 seasons of racing,
rallying and hill climibing, indestructible. Anorak off.
