MX-5 breaking

Breaking a dark green J reg MX5.

Engine (inc PAS pump and exhaust manifold, etc), autobox (inc gearstick), prop, loom, instruments and wheels going into a project.

Already discussing sale of seats, door cards, boot carpet and rear shocks but LSD, calipers, interior (dash, carpets, etc) all available - pics available if needed.

COLLECTION ONLY (sorry but I'm not in enough for couriers and don't have time to package, get prices and post).

Make me an offer (worst case, I can only say no :).

U2U if you need anything else and I'll check condition and get photos for you.

I need it rolling to scrap the shell, so no suspension parts unless I can dummy fit a bit of wood to keep it rolling

Bodyshell is much, much better than I thought, so if anyone wants it for a trackday slag or even a rebuild, make me an offer around scrap value minus my time & effort to tow it there

Just another SS1 (like I needed another project on top of the 4 main ones I already have!) - for someone that only drives auto (they never offered an auto as standard). Mocked up the factory CA18ET with an auto box from Nissan, then decided NA would be far simpler and the driver doesn't need the extra power, so the mx5 came at the right price (and it's roughly the same box).

I know someone who may have an MX5 auto box if that's what you were wanting to fit?

got the whole car with T&T thanks - cheaper than buying engine, box, ECU, instruments separately and making a loom (plus the alloys fit) - selling some bits should also offset the initial outlay.

just remembered - number plate ends with ANT - anyone after a very cheap personal plate?

forgot to mention that I work in Bristol and Oxford, so delivery of bits that will fit in my car may be possible.

What colour is the interior?

My father is looking for a pair of seats for his V reg MX-5 - I think it's a mk-2

He's got that horrible tan colour interior, I'm trying to convince him to get darker seats, carpets and door cards. If I can source some, happy days !

Has the steering column assembly been allocated to the new project?

Regards Dan

column should be available (stalks gone) - but I will need to mock something up to move it around if you're in a rush - or remove it after I've got the remains onto the trailer.

They seem to be rust free - I'll get them off and inspect/photograph this weekend.

Managed to get the wings off after work today - passengers side is very good (paint isn't fantastic close up but no big dents, corrosion or chunks missing):

Drivers side isn't so good with a couple of dents around the wheelarch and another at the very front. There's also corrosion to the lower rear edge (but it's still solid, not lacy):

Seats sold
Wings sold
boot carpet, spare wheel cover and door cards inc speaker grilles provisionally sold

I'm amazed at how solid this car is - I thought they rusted away for a pastime?

Nose cone off - small creases (no splits) which might come out with a hair dryer?

turns out the diff is open

rear bumper off, calipers, elec windows, etc, etc - all going on ebay soon so if you want any bits cheap speak up now

no holes in the body that I can see, just a bit of surface rust around the battery tray. I should cover it in plaswax and stick it in the corner to gather dust for 30 years
