Porsche 550 spyder Project up for grabs
Unfortunately due to a lack of time or space I am reluctantly selling my Martin and Walker technic 550 spyder project. Full details are on ebay and

Martin & Walker Porsche 550 Spyder Replica Kit Car. The sale includes a rolling chassis and a separate bodyshell. This is a restoration / rebuild
project, the car was supplied to Germany in 1995 and comes with the German Registration Documents, which correctly identify the car as a 550 Spyder
Replica. Once complete therefore the car will require an Mot only and will not require an IVA test.
Chassis
Martin and Walker Mid-engined steel chassis replica of the original. The chassis comes rolling with Martin and Walker supplied twin wishbone front end
and steering rack conversion and uprights with adjustable Spax coilover shock absorbers and springs. The rear has five point de-dion rear suspension
again with fully adjustable Spax coilovers. The chassis is rolling and has some brake pipes fitted and handbrake cable. The chassis was designed to
take a VW or porsche flat 4 engine with VW or porsche gearbox. There is a partial uniball type gearlinkage rod for connection to the chosen gearbox as
required. The chassis can also be modified with mounts to take subaru engines and an original flat 6 911 engine has also been fitted in the past by
Martin & Walker.
The chassis has been on the road previously and although in good condition is not new. There is no major rust, other than the odd bit of surface rust,
it could easily be used as is or repaint etc for concours. All the suspension parts are powdercoated.
Bodyshell
A new bodyshell is included in the sale, complete with rear clamshell, 2 doors, front bonnet and grille. The bodyshell is from a different
manufacturer and it should be noted that it is a longer wheelbase than the chassis. It has been lengthened behind the driver compartment and it will
therefore require approx 250mm to be removed from the grp in the passenger area to fit the chassis. This is an easy job as it is GRP, and the company
actually moulded there car from a martin and walker original. Alternatively a new bodyshell is available from Martin & Walker directly to fit the
chassis and this one could be sold on.
Finished cars or part built kits from Martin & Walker rarely come up for sale as they are usually built and kept due to the high quality and
finish of the products. There is a waiting list for Martin & Walker products of circa 18months and there is a completed car currently for sale on
ebay for £39,995. This therefore is a good opportunity to purchase a pre-registered car for a fraction of the cost of buying new and without the
wait.

What you see is what you get in the photos and so please study them carefully. All parts to complete are available form M&W or other suppliers.
The auction is for seven days and then a deposit will be required of £250 via paypal or direct bank transfer within 24 hours of the auction completing
and the remainder in cash on collection. Please contact me first to discuss if you cannot meet this criteria. Due to the large amount I cannot use
Paypal for the full price. I then need the project collected within 7 days as I don't have the space to keep it. It is a reluctant sale, but I
don't have the space or time for another project at the moment.
The chassis will need collecting on a trailer, the bodyshell will go in a large van.
Advertised elsewhere and so it may be removed if sold off ebay.
