theconrodkid - 11/4/09 at 12:21 PM

i need 4 washers, not any old washers but washers with a 48mm id hole, anything 68 + for the od and as thin as possible (aprox 1mm) but they must be made of unobtanium or similar as i dont want them to be able to bend....is this a request too far even for the LCB mahoosive?

You need someone to turn up some thick sheet

redscamp - 11/4/09 at 12:26 PM

get the hole saws out

just edited the post to say the ideal thickness is about 1mm

Roll out some steel to 1mm and cut/drill. Unlikely to find ones that are strong and that thin. That said, have a look on your local trading estate for a farm engineering shop - if its anything like the one near me they should have a very very wide range of nuts, bolts and washers. HTH

I'm sure someone on here could machine something for you in stainless steel. Unfortunately not me though............ but if I could, I would...........

I could go and measure some later but this must be close to the size of an english axle lsd diff shim.

Just measured one it's 50mm bore and 76mm OD

Available from burton etc

like this

What is the application? Someone here might have a suitable alternative or may have overcome by other means.

in a nutshell,i have a 48dcoe manifold and gsxr throttle bods, fitter the webber spacer with O rings ,the bods are a nice fit inside
trouble is the spacers are nylon and bend when they are tightened up and cause an air leak, need something stiff to keep them flat

omega, those spacers would be ideal but they need to be really stiff

looks like i,m sorted now, cheers for your replies peeps

your not meant to tighten them up fully, they are designed to allow the carb to move to prevent the fuel frothing in the carb, they have special spring washers which need to be set up using feeler gauges. I know cos I did the same thing and bust mine check ebay and look for fastroadcars he sell the stuff I think the washers are called Thakeray washers. Other than that remove the o ringsd and seal the pacer using a petrol friendly sealant not sure if silicone will do it.

Austin man,you reading my mind?,thats who i got the spacers from and i removed the O ring and siliconed them to the manifold, they are still a bit floppy tho hence the need for washers.
the bods slide inside the spacers not bolt on,that would be to easy
