Are you the same guy who hooked it all up on some very nice bearing setup so you can slide it along?
I seem to remember the post and put it on my list of "things I'd like to do if I have the time" (its a long list!)
I'm after one of those cheap electric hoists as sold by Lidl / Aldi / Netto - anyone know if any of those guys are selling any?
Or anyone got one they don't need any more?
I'm thinking of using one to help me take my R1 engine out rather than buying a more expensive and more importantly bulky engine hoist/crane.
Its only 60 odd Kg so my roof should easy take it (I go up in there as its fully boarded and I weigh about another 30Kg on top of that).
Have a quick search on ebay, that should bring up a few. 60kgs should b a piece of wee to lift out by hand. I lift my zx10's in and out by hand and they weigh 80kg.

Just had this one delivered Hoist
It looks identical to the Clark, Sealey etc. and is rated at 250Kg Will get it tried at the weekend.
Have a look in the local Aldi. They still have some in stock at the one near me from last time they were on the offer list. Other stores might have
one as well.

I can pick them up off the floor but its not so easy out of a Fury as there is a lot of stuff in the way meaning you stand a long way from the engine
= easy to put a lot more strain on your back.
I could do it with two big bits of wood and a mate but I don't always have access to a helper when I have time to work on it.
I'll check out Aldi...
our local aldi hzs them in at the,moment
I would use a hand hoists.. Electric will be difficult to control...

The electric one I have you can control to within a few mm. It's easy peasy.
I'll try and show a little vid of it in operation later, I've been meaning to get back out there recently.
Mine is on double pull, so the capstan speed is the same but the pully speed at the hook is halved and pulling effort is doubled. I imagine most
people would use it like that and this gives very fine control.
