After reading Jasper's tale of woe, I was thinking *maybe* I ought to have
an intertia switch in my fuel pump wiring. I have got a hand-operated fire extinguisher but an intertia switch would be one more way of possibly
limiting the impact of a crash... not that I am planning to have any, mind!
So, has anyone got one going spare, or could recommend one? I see a couple on ebay, but I have no idea if they are any good. Also, with
"spirited" or track day driving, is there any danger of the switch getting activated unintentionally?
Cheers

The switch fitted to the Mondeo is easy to install so is the one on the peugeot 306.
Ive just had a look but can not find the spare I had or I would have sent it over.
Your only looking at a quid at a scrap yard plus time an petrol.
I haven't installed my one yet (Sierra) but you have to give it a reasonably rapid twonk to set-it off. Don't expect track days would be a
problem unless you kept on crashing!
Thanks for the replies. I will look at my local scrappy. If no luck, then £8.99 for the ebay one doesn;t seem bad!

Have a look at the 200/400 old Rover, the switch is up under the dash just behind the radio, should be easy to see in scrappys with the radio whipped
out.
I used to pull the plunger up when I was parked in town as an anti theft device.
Got one - my local under the arches mechanic was scrapping an old Mondeo. Nice and easy to get at, too - just behind the passenger footwell trim.
Now I've just got to find a convenient place to mount it in the seven
