As long as it's fuel resistant and will not collapse.
Some use silicon or rubber.

is samco fuel resistant?

not sure, what was it used for ?

samco may be ok

i've been using samco on mine and it doesn't apear to be wearing or dying etc but now you bring it up and the engine is in pieces im wondering if it is actually fuel proof, it would be a lot easier to change the rubbers now rather than when its all built back up!

Sadly I'm pretty sure Samco isn't fuel proof.

Hence the hassle in getting fuel filler neck pipe rather than nice convenient pre-made Samco pieces.

I'm sure some people will have used it and got away with it but don't think it's the right stuff.
