I'm looking for a prop shaft for an MK indy with an R1 engine.
Can Anyone help?
Thanks!
MK
What exact length do you require? What diff flange required? One piece or two piece?
Too many variables.
As previously suggested, your best bet is to contact MK themselves.
Geoff.
Get a sierra prop, get the sprocket from MK, measure up from sprocket to diff. Take your prop to AutoProp in East Grinstead & get him to fit a
sliding UJ & optionally a TRT (helps save the geabox). He'll chop it to the correct length & balance it. Also do a search on here for TRT
propshaft, Paul Fisher's got a picture of one.
By the way, I think I'm going to hang on to my R1 engine but there's plenty around. If you haven't got sorted yet have a word with Malc
at Yorkshire Engines.
Try Baliey Morris, had my TRT 2 piece prop made there to replace the MK unit, worth every penny, no vibration compared to the Mk one.
Thats for your help guys. I leant something new today
I'll get the engine and then i can work out what size prop i need. I just assumed they were all the same if using sierra diff and R1 engine.
Thanks!
