ive been quoted £180 for a recon starter for a 96 jeep grand cherokee, does this seem ok? or is there a cheaper place to get this stuff?

That seams a bit steep to me, try halfords

There is a specialist jeep breakers, think they might have an ebay shop?
Jeep parts are such a rip off, nobody seems to do spurious bits for them. Was quoted £800 trade for an exhaust for mine, needles to say it got welded.

hey chaps, ii managed to find one with decent shipping from america, about half the uk price!

last time i needed a starter motor sorting, it was £30 at a place in leeds to rewind it, or somesuch. I remember it vividly years later, because the chap who had push started my van for 3 months was screwing that it was such a cheap fix!
