As per the title. Can anyone help? I thought the escort sump would be short enough but guess what. lol

OR is there a steel replacement i can mod myself (ie: will black top steel sump fit silvertop???)

The Mondeo 1.8 sump is deeper than the Escort one I'm afraid.

the cvh steel one fits with slight modification to the block. You need to drill and tap a couple of holes in the block.

If it were steel i could mod it. If it's ali i can't. CVH steel one sounds like an option.

Is the pinto one the same by any chance? Could re-use the one i'm chucking out...

Also is the black top steel sump?

Blacktop sumps have a lower steel pan that is easy to chop. I've never done it, but I don't think it is a straight swap onto a silvertop.

I dont think the black top sump will fit as the bearing caps are 20mm lower on the silver top. I have one if you want to offer it up and have a look.

1.8 cvh will sort of fit but the newisr one is around 18 years old so not the best start to weld up. Ive fitted a couple.

You will need the spreader plates and pick up pipe that goes with it.
They are not easy to come by.
