don't blame you for wanting to buy a chassis. i'm 3 months in to the build of mine and the completed chassis is atill a couple of weeks away

don't mean to urinate on your bonfire of anything, but have you looked in to registering your completed car in france? i'm under the impression it is near impossible to registed your car unless it has been registered as a road legal car in another european country for a while beforhand?

hope i'm wrong or you have found a cunning way round?

Dogwood on the haynes forum and on here is in France and has a finished roadster, i'm sure he can help with and registering problems. His was IVA'd in the UK though.

thanks guys for the info, no chance of registration in france!
i had a quick look at dogwoods location he is in the same town as me !!
will have to contact him.

dave (dogwood) hasn't got his registered in France yet. not that he hasn't been trying. the problem is you need a European certificate of conformity to get it registered. if you can convince the local bod checking the paperwork that the iva cert is another form of proof then you can manage it but i hear there is more than a lot of leg work involved.
