Throttle position Sensor for DHLA carbs

Now I have got my Pinto converted to Megajolt, I could really do with going for a 3D map.

Has anyone got a Throttle position sensor suitable for twin Dellorto DHLA carbs lying around ?

I made one for my DCOEs, very simple using a ford sensor.

Taken them off the car now so will get you some pictures if you like.

I turned a piece of Hex bar down and threaded it to replace the shaft screw on one end, then filed flats on it to drive the TPS, total cost was about £10, compared to over £70 for the webcon version.

Cheers Pete, Ideally i was hoping for something "ready to go" - Do you still need yours that you removed, but pictures would be great also

I am wanting my car tuned early next week and will not have time to make something in the meantime. The price they want for the kit is shocking !!!

Can lay my hands on a photo of it while im at work, but i made the braket for mine in about 15minutes from a short (2-3inch) lenght of ali angle. Picking up the two mounting holes of the TPS and the one in the side of the carbs.

The TPS i used was of a vauxhaul but only because it was adjacent to the ford i was taking the coil pack of and had its bonnet open!

You do need a lathe at a M7 tap to make the spindle adapter, but again, for anyone with a lathe its a 20minute job tops. I just made a barrel section the screws onto the end of the spindle, retained with lock tight, and a bit of 8mm bar with a flat in it grub screwed into that to locate onto the TPS.

But no, in short, i dont have a spare! Sorry.

I've got a new Webcon one, 'cos I only used their bracket. What's it worth?

This addiional bracket is used to position the sensor, then drill the 2 holes and fix permanently.

I've no idea whether the DHLAs have the same mountings, let me know if you need any more info...

Cheers guys - I now have something to go on. I have found a "shaft" with the correct size thread. Will stop at the scrappies tomorrow to pickup a Sensor and then get inventive for a mounting solution.

My DHLA (E) carbs only have one mounting hole where the ones above (and othe DHLA's) have two, but I am sure I can get something sorted
