I'm after a pair of wheel chair wheels for a go-kart project. I'm planning a reverse trike set-up and want to fabricate proper steering at the front hence the wheel chair wheels so I can mount them from one side (otherwise I'd use MTB wheels).

What can you offer me chaps?

Not got any but before you discount MTB wheels, check out the Cannondale Lefty setup, uses single sided mounting as there's only one fork leg

Did think of those, but figured wheel chair wheels would be more readily available and probably cheaper (the Locost principle is still in play here).

you need to contact a company called AJ mobility in winchester.

tell them you are building a go kart for your kid or school project, make a nice story up that does NOT involve wheelchairs. speak to them nicely and they may give them to you for free.

They are a nhs approved repairer and responsible for scrapping all old chairs. they have wheels coming out if their ear holes!!
