Arc welding rods

Ive just bought an arc welder and need to know the best place to buy some rods from.

depends on what size material you're going to weld, how often you're going to use it, it's a waste of money buying a big box of rods if you only use it once in a blue moon and keep them in a damp garage and when you go to use them the flux has fallen off. mine live in the draw under the the wifes oven.
machine mart aren't bad, my personal choice is Vodex but another welder mate of mine swears by ESAB

Get a big box of about 2.2-2.5 diameter for steel and keep them dry. Buying them in little plastic envelopes in small quantities is just a waste of money. As said keep them dry.

I used WeldEquip oop in Barnsley - you want to speak to Steve - his prices are excellent and he gave me great advice when I was buying - he had lots of time for me to be sure I got what I needed.
