I wouldnt let just any one carve lumps out of a cast flywheel.
Scholar Engines would be my recomendation. They did my zetec fly.
i have a lightened pinto flywheel......
been on my car for the last few years...
make me an offer ?
am fairly local too
dave
You don't need to machine holes in to a fly wheel to lighten it just slim it down on a lathe while held in place with a running centre.
I doubt if many of us have a lathe with that much swing.

but it had a reasonable amount removed from the back, then was rebalanced.... its still on the engine at the moment
if you can get at yours to measure, i will do the same to compare ?
Jeff at Autosprint did a grand job of mine for 60 quid.

Hi
If doing the job properly then take it to somewhere that will re balance the flywheel WITH the crank and clutch. You do not just balance a flywheel
and bolt it back onto a crank.
Cheers Matt
i think i will just leave it alone for now after watching some clips on you tube i will wait to buy a steel one thanks for all of your help
