Evening all,

My Aunts astra has died on her just as she has been made redundant

and knowing the best place to ask anything on the interenet is here......

I am after a cheap automatic! Preferably diesel and a estate but anything considered, really need to budget £500 at the most but could go over a bit if it was the perfect car! ideally needs MOT and the nearer to east anglia the better. Basically something that will get her on the road asap

Also any recommendations or anything to steer clear of?

1997(?) 406 Saloon any good? It's a petrol and has been in our family from new and garage maintained regardless of cost. It belonged to grandpa who died before Christmas and has been driven round the block every week or so until the tax ran out at the end of Feb. If it's any good to you, I'll get some piccies and more details.

I mentioned £500 to the family and they seemed OK with that. The car has a few scrapes on the bodywork but the interior is very good. Aircon and electric everything.
