what sort of diesel van would you guys recommend as a domstic electricians van. doesnt need to be big really. transit connect/berlingo size would be adequate. ideally as new as possible with low ish miles at under £4k. been looking at things like astravan cdti, berlingo etc. vw caddy looks a good option but seem pricey compared to others

I've got a Doblo and its massive inside. Went for the MPV rather than the van as its cheaper to tax and insure and has more toys inside. With the rear seats out its HUGE!

I have to say, a 4wd diesel estate would probably serve you better. When it comes to 3m lengths of trunking, an estate is probably better than a small
van. Fuel economy will still be better than a van, 4wd so you dont miss days in the snow (vans are usually poor in the snow). Also means you have a
large car to take on holiday if you need!
A4 quattro is my call! RS4 if business turns out good!
I used a renault kangoo for 7 years as a plumbers van. Served me well with a pipe tube on the roof. I upgraded to a transit connect. Although a bigger
van, I often wish I had replaced with a newer kangoo. Both a good choice though. Buy as low mileage as you can find.

when I was 7, we had a mini van, that was big enough for a family (2+2) holiday for a week in Norfolk,....
that is a small van!
your t4 vw would take some beating Dan, a good width as about 7" narrower than transit (big transit that is) so plenty of room when reversing down customers drives. I know they are a bit bigger than astra, but I never struggle parking and extra room sometimes comes in handy also very reliable. Good tow vehicle for track car.

Ive got a 06 1.4 tdci fiesta van, not sure if thats too smal but its just clocked 100k and its doing ok

im looking to get shot soon as the injector seals have gone again and its pretty much wortless, I really fancy 1.9tdi caddy but the tax puts me off
and i dont need a van quite so big
We had a Berlingo van here at work and it just carried on going and going. We even rolled into a ditch at one point and it survived with no issues. My parents own a 06 quicksilver Berlingo now, with the seats out its massive.
