I am after a Milling machine and would prefer the following (but would consider anything) 240 volts, around 1Hp, metric dials. Also worth mentioning I live in Blackpool. Thanks Ian
machine mart ? they might manage to supply
Phone Axminster tools and see if they have anything knocking about, we got a small vertical miller from them - brand new but not in catalogue as
model number had changed, 12 months warranty etc

I have heard from a friend these X2/3 machines are good value (from China):

I have a Wabeco which is great but expensive German machine.
You can do limited milling on a lathe with a vertical slide on a Myford or eqivalent.
There are lots of big old machines that need lots of space available second hand on ebay typical example is item:270986867773
I got bored using a Milling macine by hand and converted it to CNC.
I,ve got one that looks like the one in the Ebay link above, its a bit scruffier than that but works, £300 collected from Sussex, £350 and I throw in
the 3 phase to single Phase convertor.

Thanks for all the replys, I suppose I should have stated that I have around £1000 to spend on the mill. The reason for wanting a second hand mill is
that you sometimes get extras thrown in! I am just starting out really (we have one at work) but I just want my own.
Mark could you send me any details/ pictures of your mill, my email address is eaian5@aol.com if its any easier for you, I really want metric dials
though. Ian
