Kindle wanted for wife
Andybarbet - 29/6/12 at 09:21 AM

Ok, my wife has borrowed her sisters kindle tis week & hasnt put it down !

She only wants a basic one but searching the tinternet, they all seem to be about £80+

Does anyone have one they no longer need or use ? or has anyone got a recommendation of somewhere to get a good deal/good service ?

I dont mind paying £80 but thought i would ask first

Not that I wish to get in before Andy at all.

But if someone has two, or if more than one person has one to sell, then I would be interested in one also - however, please please please get in touch with Andy first...

Saw the title and thought that was a fair swap!

No probs Steve, if i get a couple of offers i will pass one on.

Daddylonglegs, i just realised how i worded it, mind you, a kindle for the wife ? might be worth considering

If you know anyone going to USA, chat them up, cos Kindles are the same price in dollars as pounds over here

Asda are doing the white Kobo touch ereader for £59 my daughter has one and its as good as a kindle. If you go into your local asda they may have the standard Kobo in stock for £39 ish.
Cheers,
Bob

Went into ASDA, i really liked the look of the kobo, its got expandable memory etc but the wife prefered the kindle so i bit the bullet picked one up for her today, her gran passed away yesterday so it cheered her up a little.

If anyone has one going 2nd hand, feel free to give Steve Hignett a shout, if I get any U2U's i will pass them on Steve.

Cheers Guys

Thanks Andy - I appreciate that and hope that I didn't cause offence...

What did you make of the Kobo? How does it differ to the Kindle?

As I say Steve my daughter has one they are an escreen same as a Kindle so not back lit (no eye strain) easy to load up with books via Calibre.
Cheers,
Bob

the kobo is slightly bigger, casing etc looks really nice, apparently the good thing with a kobo is that your not tied to amazon, i think its endorsed by wh smiths, it can also take an sd card
