I'm looking for a Pinto Bosch dizzy. It's the inductive discharge type I think. Vac advance unit on the side, and a two pin plug. See pics.

The numbers on the body are:

JGFU4
0 237 002 078
83 HF 12100RA

they were never that common to start with

the guys at H&H use them for there kits, but they are getting so hard to find they have been getting new ones made from scratch
http://www.h-h-ignitionsolutions.co.uk/

btw H&H are first class guys to deal with, a while back I swapped them a couple of scrap dizzy's (like the one your after) for some bits and bob's I needed

or you could go for something like megajolt instead - fully electronic and mapable (still need the bottom half of a dizzy to drive the oil pump on a pinto though...)

I am aware of the aftermarket types available, but it would be an easy plug and play if I can find an identicle one. I've had mine to bits to see if I could do anything about the spindle wear, and fear I may have damaged it in the process. I've got the sump off at the moment, so won't know for sure untill it's back together again.

Is this distributor the one fitted to P100 pinto engined pick-ups? ..or is (or should that be were!) there any onther Sierra models with it fitted?

Transits the same age would have the same engine setup as the P100

I might be getting myself confused here - is that an electronic or a points type dizzy ?
if its a points type then it should be the same as the very early sierra's (I think they made some without electronic ignition) or the cortina's
otherwise its like the ones they made inbetween the points and EFI...

or the guys at H&H could rebuild you old one for you (honestly I don't work for them - they just helped me out a coulpe of times )

It's an electronic one. Very basic, weights and vac unit control advance.

The H&H rebuild service could be put to use here, thanks!
