WTD: Pipercross PX600 filter to borrow (Weds)
phelpsa - 16/12/12 at 10:21 AM

I am going to be doing to dyno work on the locost on weds (19th). I have fitted a PX600 airbox, but would like to back to back test an open filter. Does anyone have one I could borrow? Obviously on a break it replace it basis. I am driving down from Cumbria to Reading on tuesday afternoon so could meet/pick up and post back straight after.

If your willing to swing via weest oxfordshire, i've a 600 filter and a larger airbox you can borrow. I'll have to leave them at the house with the wife as i fly out to afgan on the monday night.

Claire, thanks a lot for the offer but I've taken Dan up.

Matt, would be good to see your results once completed.

We found the Pipercross filter in the airbox lost 2bhp when we were getting towards the 200 hp mark (not on my engine but a 2.2 pinto.)

Dan, we had problem after problem with the car/dyno so didn't manage to try the big air box. The PX600 filter seemed to be an improvement on the PX500, releasing a little bit up top. The engine really didn't get on with the PX600 airbox, it'll need some serious playing with jets/needles to make it work and will probably lose a few bhp.

I'd be interested to hear any more developments on this - as to how the airbox performs in the end and what you had to change to make it work....
