British bike restoration project wanted
Raymond Y - 3/1/13 at 02:13 PM

Hi,

Now that I have modified my Westfield to the point where it is difficult to see what I would do next, I am looking for a late 60's / 70's British bike as a restoration project. A 650cc or larger Triumph, Norton or BSA would be my first choice, but will consider anything. If you have anything you are looking to part with or know anyone, drop me a note.

Many thanks

Raymond

Can't believe this - my father in law had a BSA C15 in bits ready for exactly what you want - he's only gone and thrown it away a few months ago.... doh!!!

I have a 1954 Matchless G3LS (350cc Single Cylinder) all dismantled. except for engine and gearbox which are complete units.
Frame has been shotblasted and powder coated.

Also havs spare frame and some additional parts.

Not sure I want to part with it.

I have 3 Royal Enfield 250's in various stages, that will be mot'd/built/restored once I'm moved to a new place with a bigger workshop.
Hence the Reman

This is a restoration, not a custom you want to do?
If so must it be brit?

Yes, I am looking to do a restoration, but not a wreck recovery. More a strip, refurb and rebuild. My preference for a Brit is based on their relative simplicity and a bit of prior knowledge, having stripped and rebuit a few Triumphs and BSAs when I was younger. Had you an alternative in mind?

For Sale
1955 Sunbeam S8 500cc

(Original registration number RXO 545)
Good condition as you can see from the pictures, the chrome work on the wheels, front & rear plungers need some attention but do not detract from using the bike as it is.

This bike runs well, starts on second kick, has just been serviced so ready for summer use. New battery, plugs, plug caps been fitted, oil change, brakes, electrics etc all working great.
This bike is not conquers condition but can be if you wish. It’s still show worthy & always creates plenty interest when I take it out.

I have the old green Registration Book dating 24th August 1955 (original registration date of bike this has loads of stamped dates all the way up to 1980, New V5 Registration Certificate from 1980 onwards. I have owned this bike for the last 3 ½ years.

Bike is in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Any inspection welcome just e-mail.
