Has anybody got a Mk2 Escort steering rack going spare?.

Sorry to divert your thread geezer. Mk1 and Mk2 racks pretty - much the same ..No?...was under the impression it was the long stem TwinCam/Mexico racks that were different...

Mk1 racks have imperial threads whereas Mk2 are metric.

Rally Design sell brand new Mk2 racks in standard or quick turn..

Mk1 track rod ends don't fit Cortina or Sierra tapers.

The MK2 rack must be from an ordinary Escort not an RS model.

Also You can mix and match parts between a Cortina Mk3+ and an Escort Mk1 rack to convert the Escort Mk1 rack to a Mk2.
It might be possible to fit Fiesta MK1 or Mk2 inner track rods to a Mk1 Escort rack.
