Little turning job need help.
big_wasa - 22/9/13 at 08:30 PM

I bought my lad some wheels for his kart that he is building. Only thing is the hubs (steel) don't fit inside the wheel.

No problem I told him we will bung them in the lathe and take them down a touch.
I get him to clean them up and I bung them in the lathe and start to make a light cut to make sure there true and the motor pops (big flash) blowing all the house electrics.

It could be a while for me to get around to finding the fault and the replacement parts. Its a Dc motor with variable speed.

Can any one help with a little lathe work close to Spalding lincs please ?

Thanks in advance

You're welcome to come and use my lathe - its a Warco1327 so should be up to it. I live at the other end of the county though, between Louth and Wragby (say 7 miles north of Cadwell) , so its probably 50 miles each way. Let me know if you are interested and I'll U2U my address.
Regards
Hugh
