Want- motor v pulley for 5/8 inch dia shaft
trextr7monkey - 17/10/13 at 10:39 AM

Hi as above, have found a motor to convert a 3 phase lathe to single phase

need a pulley something like the above to fit the motor, it has a 5/8 inch diameter shaft, 3/16 key way with 1 1/2 inches of shaft protruding beyond the motor bearing case.
I suspect something from an old pillar drill might suit but we haven't any knackered ones lying about
Thanks
Mike

When I motorised a set of slip rolls I used Taper Lock fittings. ( eBay, or engineering supplier )

You buy the centre to fit the shaft and the outer to fit whatever you need, in your case, a pulley of a suitable size.

Cheers, thought I'd see if my luck was in first, before pursuing other routes
We have a few other lathes and a trained turner here s he could prob rustle something up but he's away at moment
