I've got to the point on my build where I need to get a bespoke exhaust made and fitted. This is not a job that I can do myself, but there is a
professional that I can pay to do it at a garage 7 miles from where I live. Clearly this will involve transporting the car to him, leaving it for a
couple of days and then transporting it back again.
I don't have a car trailer and my tin top doesn't even have a tow bar, so borrowing or hiring a car trailer is not an option. I've
looked into hiring a flat bed car transporter but at two lots of nearly £100/day, there must be a cheaper way. e.g. are there car transporter
equivalents of the 'man with a van' adverts that you see for general removals?
Any ideas/suggestions? The route will be from just off J26 of the M1 (Nottingham) towards the city centre.
Plenty of 'car moving' people on Ebay mate - as long as the truck looks well kept/maintained and they have all the relevant insurance then
pick the one nearest to you. you'll probably be able to get it done for £30-40.
I used these guys to take my car to the DVLA inspection;

There's an ebay one in Newark worth a look. Car transport
I hired a Luton van with a tail lift. My nearly complete car went straight up and in and the (at the time) unpainted chassis was protected from the elements. Cost was about £65
