Escort 2.9 quick rack or kit

As the subject says...I am after an Escort 2.9 quick rack or kit. Currently my new build seems to have a 3.5 turn lock to lock rack which is going to be some what slow

I know, £107 from them but I can get a complete rack for just under £100 from another supplier...just checking to see if anyone had one they no longer needed i.e. if they have gone from a 2.9 to a 2.4

We have a Sierra 2.8 which is great, and certainly lots better than the standard one.
A lot of people say 2.4 for the road is a bit too quick ?
But Cannot vouch for that as have never tried it.

Beware, some cheap 2.9 racks have been reported as just being 3.5 ratio with lock stops to reduce the travel. RD ones are genuine 2.9 ratio (or at least the one I had was).

Why are you going for 2.9?

I built my car with a 2.9 as I was advised by a couple of people that a 2.4 would be too twitchy on the road (especially motorways). I used it like that for a couple of years but felt it was a bit aukward on track at times and on hair-pins when touring in the Alps. I then swapped to 2.4 and it's much better. It does take a couple of miles for your brain to adapt after driving normal cars but it's then not too bad even on motorways and much better on even moderatly twisty roads and track.

My current Sylva Striker has (I believe, I really should check it this lunch time!) a 2.4 rack and its very twitchy on the road + heavy at low speeds. I used to like it like that but as I get older I would like a little less twitch on the roads and less weight when parking. In 2012 Steve at Fury Sports Cars drove my Striker and the steering was so heavy at low speeds they thought something was wrong with it....after a good check over they found nothing wrong with it though, its just too heavy.

After talking to RAW my new Striker would probably be better off with a 2.9 as 70-80% of my driving is on the road. They tend to spec a 2.9 rack these days and they build and drive more than me

Ideally I would like a 2.9 for road and a 2.4 for track but changing from one to the other is to much work for me in what is supposed to be a fun car for 1-2 track days a year
