A mate recently bought a c20xe nova but after pulling it apart it's more than a bit rotten. So he's on the lookout for another. Spec not
really important as long as it's a decent solid shell with no/minimal welding.
Anyone got one for sale or know of a good one?
Worth looking on these two forums.

Top one is just novas.

Cheers. I've been lurking there keeping an eye out.
I've been trying to convince him to get a clio 172 as a track toy instead but has his heart set on a nova.
Will ask my lad as he has had loads of them. He has a very nice one with a boot now, how much is there in the pot?
I'm not sure of budget limit to be honest but he is willing to pay good money for a good shell
He would be better off with a clio for track work, as the xe is too heavy for a nova and makes them handle like a pig
I know. I've been trying to convince him for weeks. Even a rotten shell doesn't seem to be swaying him away. He has had an urge for a nova
for years and seems won't give up till he gets one.
There's even a local 172 with full mot for 1200 quid that's ripe for abuse but he's still not interested........

completely depends onthe track. Ive had both, the clio is fun, but a red topped nova is funking quick. Only comparison i have is a timed lap of my local ringroad, clio was was 25s slower than the 3:45 the nova managed. But some where like brands gp, silverstone, bedford or the ring the novas grunt would more than make up for the clios nimble chassis.
I think your being overly dramatic tbh, striped and with a good set of coil overs they arent as bad as you make out. I had quite a few good class and overal finishes in autosolo in mine, which really does bias a decent handling car.
Overly dramatic?
They handle like a pig, understeer badly.
Although you will know better, as with everything it seems...........
Im no way saying they handle well, but not a pig. Torque steer is controlable with practice and compared to similar power to weight ratio cars is to
be expected. 172 has much lower power to weight.
I have owned 4 Novas, 2 redtopped and ive had 2 172s and a 182, so could certainly not be considered inexperienced on both cars. But im sure your
argument is based on similar experience so must just be down to different opinions.
