Luego just use a strip of 3-4mm thick and about 30mm wide rubber cut off and wrapped around the rack, and a large steel saddle clamp, which they make up. Much cheaper than £26.

Bought mine from Ford, still a stock item, about £8

Same!

Great minds think alike!

Ford dealers arn't that bad, infact ours gives me any bits lying around in the workshop which are useless to him but might help me!

Escort Mk3 was the same from general design of rack --- should aply to all the Escort manual steering racks

cheers guys
i think i'll go down the really cheap route and use strips of metal and rubber. working for a design and manufacturing company means i'll be able to get the materials extra cheap if u know what i mean
cheers

Yes, I used Capri ones. Can't remember which mk Capri tho (not all the same). Speed Shack sell Poly buses for the necessary Capri too. £10 or so IIRC.
