Wtd: New / Crate 2.0 Zetec engine.
big_wasa - 1/4/20 at 06:43 PM

As title I am on the look out for a New Zetec. Must be 2.0. Sensible collectible distance from south Linc’s. Anyone bought one and not used it ?

Can I just point out it’s not an essential purchase so I am not expecting one immanently. Just putting feelers out.

Hi you could try Power Torque Ltd at Binley wood Coventry they sell Zetec and Ecboost engines.
They are Ford agents since 1920's were cheaper than the rest.

Kit Spares list them:
https://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=43_8&product_id=273&sort=p.price&order=DESC
price £1920

The 1.8s are much cheaper (£1020)

Bloody hell they've gone up. I only paid £600 for mine 10 yearsago. It's still new as it's not been started yet.

The Raceline website still lists them as £995 + VAT for the 2L engine, plus another £155 + VAT for pallet and shipping.

Not sure how old that is now, but could be worth a call?

Re the Gbs price, that’s not realistic. I get they haven't got many left and are hanging on to some for there customers and factory new builds. For that money I could buy a car with a turbo, brembo’s and an mot and drive it to a track.

Re Race line, I’ve been told by a few that have enquired, they are keen to use there stock to push there packages.

Fazerrus, let me know when your fed up of tripping over it

There was a batch of automatics hit the market before Xmas. Just seeing if some one has one and has changed direction.

Thanks for the reply’s

I have seen a few maverick 2.0 crate engines on ebay (unfortunately all sold), they're Chihuahua produced so will be the usa spec engine with slightly lower compression, 9mm rod bolts etc.

There might be more available from ford parts plus as ex dealer (obselete) stock, i don't know if they were cleared as a job lot, but the ex dealer stock used to be listed on a flyer every month from parts plus on a first come first served basis.

Would also be interested in a good used one.
