OT - Cheap seperates amp for shop
I'm after a cheap amp to run and set of speakers in my shop. Going to take the input from my PC.
Doesn't need to anything exciting, just a basic amp that will do the job.
Anybody got anything lying around they don't use?

£30 set of PC speakers from an online shop? Get a decent set with a sub... would do the job?

nothing lying around, but it would be worth popping into Richer Sounds (London Rd in Brighton) and having a look. They have some cracking deals at
the moment (NTDWM BTW) and often have some managers specials too.
Didn't think about the PRS angle

Already have a PRS license ....
PC speakers no good, I've already put a set of Monitor speakers on the wall at the front of my shop, fed up with crap PC's speakers and a
bloody great bass bin under my desk I've had for 8 years.....
I know Richer Sounds has a nice Cambridge Audio one for £60, but at the moment trying to spend as little as possible.

Oh... you are literally talking about a "shop"... sorry... thought you were talking american about a workshop....
Something I have seen a bit recently and seems to work quite well is to fit a set of car speakers into the ceiling tiles or into wall enclosures....
You can get those reasonably cheap and the quality is pretty good..... Get a head unit that plays Mp3s or has an Aux input and a 12V transfomer and
jobs a goodun!

Hi, I have an old amp somewhere in the loft, but am out of the country for the next few weeks. It is near Lincoln and probably too difficult to post.
The speakers that go with it, and the cd player, are probably too good for what you want though, so you'd still need those. Sorry for the
vague reply, been up nearly 24 hours!

So do I, R/Sounds gave me a cracking deal.
However my Amp in my Radio Shack blew up a couple of weeks ago. So I took it to the Recycling centre (rubbish tip) and swapped it for a working one
for £3.
You cant beat the place. Got a matching pair of 700Mhz Slot 1 Processors for my server (for spares) for just £2.
Brill place the rubbish tip. Just glad I dont work there. Too many goodies being chucked out by people who dont value them!
