Omega Box

Hi y'all. i'm after an Omega gearbox. manual, for a petrol, not bothered about much more than that. Would be nice to have the clutch and mounts and stuff, but not too fussy.

Thanks peeps.

Nowt.
It's for a Saab engine. And the car it's going in is the hard/embarrassing part.

Unfortunately it's not a 205.

Thanks for the link, but i think the intended aplication will eat that fairly quick, although i would be happy to be proved wrong.

Still on the lookout though peeps if there's one knocking about under a rock or behind a sofa.

Thanks.

Ahh, there you are
Are diesel ones different? Odd angle but looks very similar to my petrol one:

Can't say I know much about gearboxes though

P.s. Don't be ashamed/embarassed, I'd half made the framework of my Locost when I bought my Dutton to satisfy my "but I want to drive one now!" urge last summer and the locost has moved on much slower now due to having so much fun in the Dutt
Strip it, brace the bits that need it (triangulation seems like it was overlooked at 1st build ), 5 links the rear (mine was alrady done) and they're actually pretty good, I even like the look of mine. not so keen on the phaetons with the enclosed arches, but each to their own...
Take a look at andys B+ frame on the DOC, he's done an awful lot to bring the standard up and I'm impressed, copy him

See, i've gone and outed you now - I feel naughty

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't go telling telling peeps it's a Dutton.

I keep getting ribbed for the way it looks, i then tell them the chassis is alot worse. Still, gives something to do on them. It's got those enclosed arches on, LOL, although hopefully cycle wings over summer should be on the cards, i hope. The main reason we went for a Dutton is so it could be driven straigh away, seemed good value at the time.

The problem with DERV boxes is the ratios, they are longer due to the lower revs. It may be acceptable on the Saab engine, i know some of the 205 turbos run DERV boxes, but i figured i'd play it safe.

Thanks for the link, and all the help in gereral. You're a star.

PS, i'll reply to your PM some time tomorrow, when i havn't got a night of coursework in front of me.

Thanks again.
